While The Golden Globes is a major awards ceremony honoring the film and television industries, it is also highly renowned for its red carpet fashion. Celebrities' sartorial choices are watched by "Fashion Police" and later copied by department stores. Inside Beat takes a look at the best and worst outfits of the big night.

Best

Anne Hathaway

Hathaway looked stunning in Armani Privé. Her shoulder puffs and high neckline kept the look fashion-forward and sexy. She has definitely cemented her A-list position.

Amy Adams

The Fighter star was a definite knockout in this Marchesa gown. The navy color let her get away with the sculptured detailing and trendy one-shoulder style. Adams' hair also managed to give the dress a cool, relaxed feel.

Ryan Gosling

The indie it-boy and star of Blue Valentine led the men in velvet Ferragamo tux. The slim-fit silhouette kept the suit from looking too '70s. Gosling proved himself a movie star ready for his close-up.

Worst

Helena Bonham Carter

Carter was beyond kooky in a Vivienne Westwood dress and mismatched shoes. We look forward to seeing The King's Speech actress at the Oscars — she is a beautiful, talented woman who can step it up.

Michelle Williams

Williams' adorable pixie cut cannot distract from her childish, flower-print Valentino dress. She's made big waves at awards shows before — remember her orange Oscar dress from a couple of years ago? A comeback is guaranteed.

Justin Bieber

The tween R&B singer's Dolce and Gabbana suit was an odd-match paired with his trademark kicks. He looked really uncomfortable in an ill-fitting jacket and vest. Next time, get a better tailor Justin.
