There's no doubt that when it comes to fashion, guys and girls often never share the same opinion. Inside Beat has set out to find out what the guys at Rutgers have to say about the hottest trends. First up, this season's "it" boot — the over-the-knee style, also known as "OTK."These thigh-hugging boots have been revamped since the early '90s when Julia Robert's character in Pretty Women made them popular.

Here were the guy's first reactions:

"You mean the hooker boots?" said Karl Smith, a School of Environmental and Biological Sciences junior.

"It's a very bold statement. It's kind of immodest, which is sort of a sign of attention," said Joshua Rosenau, a School of Arts and Sciences junior.

"Don't hookers wear those? I don't know what I'm talking about, I just thought of hookers when I saw that," said Paul Almeida, a School of Arts and Sciences senior.

"Truly, I think they're really cool. I think they're edgy and we haven't really seen them around in a while," said Tom Carr, a School of Arts and Sciences junior.

Advice:

"I don't think most straight guys pay attention to boots, and they don't look comfortable, what's the point?" said Almeida.

"They are trying to get attention and I don't necessarily want to just award them that just because of really expensive or really ostentatious shoes," said Rosenau.

"They can look hot with the right outfit, but they could easily look slutty," said Smith.

"You run a fine line, though, that if you're short or have short legs they make you look kind of weird, but if you're tall then you look like a giant. Some have hidden heels, I like those," said Carr.

While OTK's may be called "hooker boots" Inside Beat has some do's and don'ts to keep you from looking like one:

DO:Go out and buy yourself a pair of OTK's if you like, but take into consideration the length and size of your legs. For thicker legs, try a slouchy pair. If you have short legs, the perfect length is right above the knee. For skinny legs, find a pair that hugs your mid-thighs.

DON'T: wear them with a tank top and mini skirt, you're not Julia Roberts. Instead opt for opaque tights or leggings. For a more casual look, pair them with your favorite skinny jeans.
