Fall is a season defined by its beauty and romance; crisp weather, warm coats, dark makeup and rich hues. Inside Beat, Gypsy Warrior Vintage and RU Fashionistas take you on a journey to the ‘40s to experience what life might have been like as a Rutgers student, when men wore suits to class and women never left home without their fur stole. Best friends, boyfriends and evenings out — all the staples of college life, just in a more glamorous setting. Think leather-bound textbooks, longer hemlines and pouty lips. We brought the past to life on the historic Old Queens grounds, just a small part of Rutgers' rich history.

Fun Facts
We had a great time doing this shoot with the RU Fashionistas, the designers behind Gypsy Warrior Vintage and our three lively models: Michael, Gia and Nicole. Here are a few details we thought of sharing with you.
- Everyone involved in the shoot, including the girls from Gypsy Warrior Vintage and our models, are all current University students or alumni.
- A Torah was used as a prop in the shoot.
- While hovering over a book in the picnic scene, our models were discussing parts of the male anatomy… that lie below the belt.
- Our photographer, Rowa Lee, had a bit of an aside photo shoot with a squirrel.
