Eisley is an alternative pop/rock group that is all about the family. Fronted by the three DuPree sisters, Stacy, Sherri and Chauntelle, accompanied by their brother Weston, and cousin Garron, this family super-group has made their way back into the music scene. With Stacy on vocals, keys and guitar, Sherri singing and playing rhythm guitar, Chauntelle on lead guitar, Garron on bass and Weston on drums, the musical talent that exists in the DuPree family seems eminent.
Signing with Warner Brother's records in 2003, the band put out two full-length albums and toured with notable bands such as Coldplay, The Fray and Snow Patrol. However, after enduring some rough patches in some of their personal and musical lives, the group went on a bit of a hiatus.
This month Eisley released their third, full-length album, titled The Valley under Equal Vision Records. The album is filled with raw, despondent emotion that serves well as a creative release for the DuPree sister's recently endured hardships. Stacy, Sherri and Chauntelle, all suffering from unfair break-ups, channeled their despair into their music — highlighted in tracks "Mr. Moon," "Sad" and "Smarter." Stacy and Sherri passionately harmonize with clever, expressive lyrics in "Mr. Moon," crooning, "bones crack and fingers blister/I might console you but look at my sisters."
The title of the album itself, The Valley, is defined as a low point between two peaks, but hopefully the album results in a pinnacle for the band. They recently partook in the colossal SXSW festival in their home state of Texas roughly a week ago, no doubt on their way soaring to the top.
