This summer MTVu's VMA summer concert tour had five stops—Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey being one of them. On Friday, August 27th, the North Star Arena at Great Adventure hosted four artists: Never Shout Never, The Ready Set, 2AM Club and Just Kait; all or whom are on the line-up for 2010's tour. The venue began to fill up with many teenagers that consumed the floor space of the arena. The bleachers remained mostly vacant with some scattered fans, but that didn't take away from any of the artist's energy. Up first in the line up was Just Kait who served as a great opening band to get the teen's spirits lifted and ready to go for the next three bands.
Between bands, the crowd was vivaciously hyped up by the tour's Emcee, Sunny Day. Dressed in a bright blue polo that went along with his bold personality, he ran back and fourth across the stage singing along with radio hits and engaged the crowd by telling them to wave their hands in the air if they we're ready for the next band in the line-up. Next up on the event's list was 2AM Club, their indie-pop music continuously built up the crowd, and the daylight slowly faded just in time for the teen-filled crowd to anxiously wait for the Ready Set's performance.
The Ready Set came out with an audacious entrance that made the crowd shout loudly as well as raise their hands in the air, making the band's energy was felt throughout the venue. They performed a nine song set that kept the crowd thoroughly entertained. To follow them was the headlining band, Never Shout Never. They made more of subtle entrance. Lead singer Christofer Ingle came out by himself, strapped with an acoustic guitar that lulled the hyped crowd and he coaxed them with his mellow song, which also included him playing the harmonica. After the completion of his short tune, the full band took the stage and began their first song, which was followed by a giant explosion of colorful streamers.
All in all the four bands that took the stage at the North Star Arena at Six Flags Great Adventure gave off a high-energy performance that kept the teen-filled crowd captivated throughout the mini-festival.
