What New Brunswick Has To Offer: Pollifax

Music is constantly being created and performed all around New Brunswick. Pollifax, a website that recognizes local musical artists, contains many artists from around the area and it was created by Rutgers alumni Kevin de Wilde and Christine Tran. The two students' intentions were to promote the local talent of artists in New Brunswick. Pollifax highlights the local talent all around the University and Hub City. The founders have since graduated Rutgers, therefore are not always in the area, yet they've continued to keep their website up and running. They have kept it going by capturing artists' talents by the means of their traveling and with the help of their two other members of their staff, Skyla Pojednic and Pilar Timpane.

The website is very simplistic and easy to navigate.. It emerged based off the idea that there was not a lot of coverage or publicity for local artists. Though its creation was not very long ago, the site has helped local artists become more noticed. It currently contains information about many different musicians that the two founders, as well as their surrounding staff, have discovered. The site has videos of artists performing, as well as poetry submissions from creators mostly generated from New Jersey.
