This spring, Broadway will highlight some of the biggest names known in today's movie scene. With original shows and well-respected distinguished revivals, Hollywood's finest stars of all ages and types will be shining up and down, on and off stages of the Great White Way.

*Green Day's: American Idiot

Celebrity Sightings: Co-author and lead singer of Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong, is bringing a lot of eager and excited viewers to the St. James Theatre. But renowned rock star Melissa Etheridge will debut in the show Tuesday Feb. 1 through SundayFeb.6.

*The Merchant of Venice

Celebrity Sightings: A Shakespearean comedy can be memorable for many reasons, but this spring, catch acclaimed Oscar winner and screen legend, Al Pacino (The Godfather) at the Broadhurst Theatre in one of the most classic roles in theatrical history. Ends Sunday, Feb. 20.

*Long Story Short

Celebrity Sightings: Former Saturday Night Live writer and comedian, Colin Quinn, and his version of the history of the world — enough said! Ends Saturday, March5.

*Driving Miss Daisy

Celebrity Sightings: Don't miss James Earl Jones (Star Wars, The Lion King) and Vanessa Redgrave (Letters to Juliet, Venus, Girl Interrupted) in Alfred Uhry's play about the pivotal relationship between a Jewish woman and an African-American chauffeur in the American South. The 1989 film adaptation of Uhry's play won the Academy Award for Best Picture and starred Morgan Freeman, Jessica Tandy and Dan Aykroyd. At the John Golden Theatre; closes Saturday, April 9.
